Victor Athletic Letters, Pins and Bars
A Victor varsity student athlete is awarded the following as per the varsity head coach’s criteria.
Each head coach establishes their own criteria.
Varsity Letters – A varsity student athlete is awarded only one Varsity Letter for their High School career.
Sports Specific Pins – For each sport where the varsity student athlete meets the coach’s criteria; the student athlete is awarded a pin – designating that sport. The Pin is then placed on the Letter.
Bars - For each additional season the student athlete participates successfully on said individual sport after receiving the sports specific pin – the student athlete is awarded a bar. The Bar is placed under the sports specific pin and indicates number of years of participation in that particular sport.
NYSPHSAA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARDS - To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition with a certificate, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00. If a team DOES NOT meet the Scholar-Athlete Team Criteria, the individuals on that team with a 90.00 or above GPA are still eligible to receive a pin and will be considered an Individual Scholar-Athlete.
