VICTOR – On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Victor Central School District named scholastic-athletics coach and teacher Fred Finter as the Head Coach for the Varsity Girls Flag Football Team.
VCS Athletic Director (AD), Duane Weimer, said Finter “drawing from his extensive scholastic-athletic coaching experience, Coach Finter has a proven ability to build meaningful relationships with his student-athletes while inspiring them to reach their full potential. He consistently upholds high standards and fosters a strong sense of teamwork and pride. His primary focus remains on academics and cultivating positive relationships, ensuring his student-athletes receive a well-rounded, high-quality educational experience."
With extensive experience coaching both Flag Football and 11-Man Football, as well as Unified Bowling and Wrestling, Coach Finter is committed to fostering growth, pride, and a strong sense of community among our student-athletes. Coach Finter states, “It is a coach’s responsibility to develop the student-athlete beyond the playing field, instilling a sense of pride in themselves, their team, and their community.” His mission to “Seize the Opportunity” aligns perfectly with the values of Victor Athletics, providing athletes a chance to excel while providing parents and the community a role in shaping this lasting program. Under his leadership, we look forward to building a program that thrives both on and off the field.
Finter’s appointment reflects the collective efforts of the Victor Athletic Department Flag Football Interview Committee, which included Senior High Administration, Interscholastic Coaches and Student-Athlete Representatives.
